About Dr. Thi Thien Nguyen Tran

Dr. Thi Thien Nguyen Tran, often referred to as Dr. Tran by his patients, is an established Florida dertmatologist and skin cancer surgeon who leads a team of board-certified physician assistant and advanced practice registered nurse. Committed to quality in-office care, Dr. Thi Thien Nguyen Tran develops strong personal relationships with patients in treating an array of dermatologic and skin cancer issues, including melanomas.

Dr. Tran has extensive post-graduate training in his field and was chief resident while focusing on surgical and medical dermatology at Nova Southeastern University. In 2002, he was honored with the prestigious scientific Koprine award for his work on dermatologic surgery. In 2003, he earned the National Psoriasis Foundation's Chief Residents Psoriasis Award, and the following year, he was honored with the Amgen's Resident Expert in Biologics Award.

His practice in The Villages, Florida is widely known for its Mohs micrographic surgery as well as skin cancer surgery-related facial reconstructive repair. His research and studies have helped in the development of the Il Duomo Simskin head model, a surgical model currently used to train in dermatologic surgery. An innovator in his field, he has received a patent on an improved model for patient safety and workflow efficiency using software and clinical imaging.

Dr. Thi Thien Nguyen Tran is an avid snow skier and mountain biker, as well as a devoted husband and father to his four kids. When he is not spending time with them, he enjoys learning more about new advances in renewable energy technology. This is reflected with the practice being powered by renewable solar energy. He gives back to the community through supporting several local food banks and other charitable organizations.
